Portraits of your home are done from photographs in pen and
ink on Strathmore Illustration Board and are suitable for matting
and framing or reproduction.
They range in size from 12" x16" (which would result
in a 16" x 20" framed piece) to a full board drawing
measuring 20 x 30". They are priced between $275 and $500
(unframed), based on the size of the drawing and the complexity
of the detail. Considered in pricing are the style of the home,
number of roof lines, facade (brick, stone, log, etc.) landscaping
and seasonal foliage.
Quotes are given in advance based on photographs.

Where do I start?
The instructions below are included on our downloadable
PDF file which includes the form needed for a quote.
Clients are asked to provide photographs that show details
critical to the design of the custom home portrait. At least
one photo should be the exact view that you wish to have drawn.
Weather, time of day and season influence lighting. To see shadows
clearly, take photos of an east-facing house in the morning and
of a west-facing in the afternoon, with the sun a bit above and
behind you. The most attractive view is from a slight angle,
showing most of the front and a little of the side. If you cannot
frame the entire house, take the angle that you would like the
home to be drawn.
In close-ups, photograph all details that are unique to your
house: front door, door handle, door knocker or decorative fixtures,
lighting fixtures, house number, porch railings, from steps and
any pillars, decorative brick designs, shutters, leaded glass,
stained glass, bay windows or dormers. Show siding and any random
designs, any decorative eave supports, roof pattern if slat or
tile, chimney, garage door details and anything that may be blocked
from view by trees or shrubs in the main photo. Photograph all
landscape elements that you wish to have shown in the finished
drawing.
